When God gives you an assignment, don’t stop doing it until he says you have finished it!

“He told me, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God’” (Acts 10:31 NLT)!

He Knows You! He Hears You! He Sees You!

A billion is a big number! It is said that if you started counting from one to a billion non-stop, it would take 30 years to get to one billion! There are 8.1 billion people in the world today. Yet God knows you by name! He hears your prayers! He is watching and taking note of what you do!

You are made in the imago Dei, the image of God, and he has assigned you a role in the missio Dei, the mission of God. If it seems that nobody ever acknowledges you, commends you, or even knows that you exist, know this! God knows you by name; he hears you when you pray and sees what you do for others!

Cornelius, a Gentile in Acts 10, was a devout man who loved God, prayed consistently, and gave generously to the poor. Yet, it was against Jewish law (not God’s law) for a Jewish man like Peter to associate with him or enter his home (Acts 10:28). So, the church leaders would have nothing to do with him, but God sent an angel from his throne room in heaven to call him by his name and tell him that God had heard his prayer and had seen what he was doing for the poor. He knows you! He hears you! He sees you!

Whatever God has assigned your hand, keep doing it! No matter how small or insignificant it may seem, keep doing it. If nobody ever pats you on the back, keep doing it. If others seem to be doing so much more and are getting recognized by people, keep working on the assignment God gave you.

Focus Quote: “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.”
