“This is the day that the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24 NKJV).
No Depression!
No, it did not turn out like I thought it should, but God said, “My thoughts are not your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8). The way the presidential election turned out did not make sense to me. But God said, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways” (Isaiah 55:9).
So, I choose not to be depressed.
I choose to make this day and every day a great day on purpose! To paraphrase the Optimist International Creed,
I promise myself,
“To be so strong that nothing can disturb [my] peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person [I] meet…
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as [I am] about my own…
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature [I] meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of [myself] that [I] have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit trouble.”
One other thing I did today was to turn off the TV news!
