I am sitting down to write a little later than normal today because I had an appointment with a hematologist/oncologist this morning. My primary care physician noticed an abnormal trend in my blood a couple of months back and referred me to a specialist. Although the doctor who examined me today is continuing with testing and monitoring to determine the reason for the abnormalities, I heard him clearly say that there is no cancer. While I am scheduled to see him again in May, I am fully confident that God has everything in and under control! To God be ALL the glory!
“Look the LORD your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the LORD God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged” (Deut. 1:21 NKJV).
Go Up and Possess it!
When something is abnormal, it deviates from the expected standard, the average or typical state or condition. When a doctor looks into your body and reports that something is abnormal, like my doctor did, it typically suggests that there is a cause for concern.
But abnormal is not always negative. When God gives you a vision or promises you something that seems impossible to obtain, it may seem normal to do nothing. The obstacles are too great! You don’t have the financial resources! All the noise around you is asking, “Can’t you see that it is not possible?” But could it be that it is time for you to do the abnormal and “Walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7)? Go up and possess it!
“Look the LORD your God has set the [vision] before you.” And He is saying, “Do not fear or be discouraged.” Even if all the indicators suggest that you can’t possess the vision, “Do not fear or be discouraged.” Remember who gave you the vision! Then, “go up and possess it” at once!
If this makes sense to you, maybe God is trying to tell you something! It just may be that He is saying, “Go up and possess it!”
Focus Quote: “Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, ‘Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30 NKJV).
