Tired Hands and Week Needs, July 16, 2026

christian missionarie's hand and cross

Since 2019, this is focus #340. The truth is, I’m tired. So, why do I keep writing these messages every week?

“I’m running for my life! I’m running for my life!

If anybody asks you what’s the matter with me,

tell ‘em I’m saved, sanctified, Holy Ghost filled, fire baptized,

I’ve got Jesus on my side, working by day, praying by night,

and I’m running for my life!”  –Traditional

“So, take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong” (Hebrews 12:12-13 NLT).

Tired Hands and Weak Knees

It is pretentious and dishonest to think that we can go non-stop, respond to every request, and never get tired. Frankly, I am tired. I have tired hands and weak knees. So, what am I going to do now? I am going to rest a bit, then flex my fingers and take a new grip. I am going to strengthen my weak knees with regular prayer and exercise and keep moving forward.

Tired hands and weak knees are inevitable. We are bound to get tired because we are human. “We have this treasure in earthen vessels” (2 Corinthians 4:7). But the power of God is revealed in all its splendor and excellence in our insufficiency. I am not the one who is nor should be in the spotlight. The spotlight must be on God. My hands and knees are tired and weak, but He is all-powerful, the All-Sufficient One, El Shaddai!

Moreover, I don’t want anyone who is weak in the faith to let go and stumble because I allow my tired fingers to slip out of God’s hand. I don’t want anyone to fall because, with my weak knees, they see me walking crooked and straying from the path of righteousness.

So, with my tired hands, I will hold tightly to the hands of God and cling firmly to my faith in Jesus. I will strengthen my weak knees through prayer and follow in the footsteps of the Master. Yes, every faithful and diligent servant of God will at some point have tired hand and weak knees, but we must never let go of our faith in God. Just take a new grip and keep holding on!

Focus Quote: “But they that wait on the LORD” (Isaiah 40:31 NLT).

Special Note: Pray without ceasing!

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man [or woman] availeth much” (James 5:16b)

And please continue to join us for our 5:14 pm prayer. “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14). Just pause and pray wherever you are. There is no call line or zoom link that you need to remember or retrieve and connect to. Just connect to God and pray! We and many others will also be praying with you. There is power in agreement! This week’s prayer list is attached below:
