I’ve Seen too Many Victories! (I Believe God!) April 23, 2036

book-standing on the promises

“But then I recall all you have done, O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago” (Psalm 77:11 NLT).

I’ve Seen too Many Victories! (I Believe God!)

You may choose to be depressed and think negative thoughts concluding that God has abandoned you. The unfavorable medical diagnosis, marital or other relationship issues, disobedient children, loss of job and income, loss of loved ones or other discouraging matters may have you questioning God like the psalmist, Asaph, in Psalm 77:7-10. Asaph asked six despairing questions:

Has the Lord rejected me forever?

Will he never again be kind to me?

Is his unfailing love gone forever?

Have his promises permanently failed?

Has God forgotten to be gracious?

Has he slammed the door on his compassion?

Then he almost concluded: “This is my fate; the Most High has turned his hand against me.” Now that is a defeatist attitude. Six hopeless, despondent questions. I’m glad he stopped at six since seven is the number of completion. He might have completely given up if he had asked one more gloomy question. I’m just saying… But Asaph stopped lamented after that sixth question long enough to remember something. He began to recall all the Lord had done for him before (Psalm 77:11). He used the next ten verses to reflect, remember, and write down God’s wonderful deeds. I believe what Asaph was really saying in those next verses was what Tye Tribbett said: “If He did it before, He can do it again! Same God right now, same God back then!” And also what Melvin Williams declared in his song for The Williams Brothers: “I’ve seen too many victories to let defeat have the last word!”

That is truly my testimony! I am standing solidly upon the promises of God! And yes, as I proclaimed at GMCHC last Sunday during the offertory, I BELIEVE GOD! If that is your testimony, share it here so others will be encouraged!

Focus Quote: “They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works” (Psalm 77:12 NLT).

Congratulations to my home church family in North Carolina, Royal Light Church of Deliverance, as they are celebrating the church’s 80th anniversary this weekend. My wife and I will be there as I have been invited to serve as MC for the anniversary celebration.  Please pray for us.

And please continue to join us for our 5:14 pm prayer. “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14). Just pause and pray wherever you are. There is no call line or zoom link that you need to remember or retrieve and connect to. Just connect to God and pray! We and many others will also be praying with you. There is power in agreement!
