When You Know, You Know! January 22, 2026
“‘Now come and have some breakfast!’ Jesus said. None of the disciples dared ask him, ‘Who are you?’ for they all knew it was the Lord’” (John 21:12 NLT).
When You Know, You Know!
Jesus had been crucified and buried. Seven of His disciples, who were not quite sure what to do now that their leader was dead, went fishing one night and caught not a single fish. But in the pre-dawn hours, they saw a shadowy figure on the beach who told them to cast their net on the right side of the boat and later cooked breakfast for them. They caught more fish than they could draw in! Although they knew Jesus had been crucified and buried, they also knew that this Man had to be Jesus!
They knew it was Jesus because they had spent quality time with Him. They had seen His works. And when they saw the miracle He performed on the sea that morning, they knew it could only be Jesus. When you know, you know!
When I had severe spinal stenosis and a slipped disc in my back four years ago, and the doctors said my best option for getting some normal functioning restored was surgery that might or might not work, I was despondent for a moment. But then I remembered who I know. I shared my situation with Bishop Owens and told him that I did not want to have surgery. His brief but powerful response was, “You KNOW what prayer can do!” I called for the prayers of the righteous because I know, “the prayers of the righteous avail much.”
I did not have surgery, although I do support surgery for anyone who needs it. I no longer have a slipped disc in my back, and I am no longer dealing with spinal stenosis. I have had that testimony of healing now since April of 2022! Yes, I know what prayer can do. And like the disciples, I know who Jesus is because I spend quality time with Him. Some folks know about and talk about Jesus. But that’s not the same as knowing Jesus. When you know Jesus, you know Him. And when you know, you know!
Focus Quote: “Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen” (John 3:11NKJV).
Please continue to join us for our 5:14 pm prayer. “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14).
Blessings, Peace, and Love,
